UCU is the largest trade union and professional association for academics, lecturers, trainers, researchers and academic-related staff working in further and higher education throughout the UK.
The UCU Plymouth branch is run by university academics on a voluntary basis, through an elected executive. The executive acts on behalf of the membership in negotiations with the University executive. These take the form of regular meetings in which academic issues are discussed (the Teaching Consultative Committee), and another forum at which more general, university-wide issues are presented and discussed with all UoP-recognised trades unions. UCU members are also represented individually through casework, which is also undertaken by UCU-trained volunteer members of our branch.
We are always keen to hear from branch members and encourage you to get involved in the branch to ensure that it continues to be vibrant and represent a strong voice to the University. For further information please email firstname.lastname@example.org
